On a busy Tuesday morning, several people were shot at a subway station in Brooklyn, New York. News agency AP reported that fire personnel responding to complaints of smoke on the 36th street station found multiple people who were shot, and undetonated devices.
At least 13 people had been injured in the shooting incident, reported AFP news agency. A NYPD police spokeswoman told AFP, "At 8h27 police responded to a 911 call of a person shot in the subway in Brooklyn."

ABC news quoted police sources saying that at least five people have been shot in this incident, while the city fire department took a toll on the injuries. As the situation was taken under control, more reports came in citing that an indicated suspect had fled wearing a construction vest and a gas mask.
During the morning commute several train services were delayed the on that station due to the incident. A photo from the incident scene depicted bloodied people lying on the station floor. Details aren’t available yet, but the New York City Police said that they were responding to reports that whether the people were injured by gunfire or an explosion.
The police department had warned residents to avoid the area and expect emergency vehicles. Due to the incident major delays were reported on B, D, F, N, Q and R lines and W service was suspended. On the N/R line from 59 Street and Atlantic Avenue power was shut off.
